Older People: 64 Year Old Swims 110 Miles

US swimmer Diana Nyad, 64, makes Cuba-Florida crossing64 Year old Diana Nyad is the first person to swim from Cuba to the US without a shark cage. The swim took a total of 54 hours and this had to be done without holding onto the support boat - an incredible achievement.

The breathless athlete told waiting TV crews: "I have three messages: one is we should never ever give up; two is you are never too old to chase your dreams; and three is it looks like a solitary sport but it takes a team."
